First Coral Transplantation in Pandanan Marine Technopark


The first rehabilitation (coral transplantation) project was done with support from PT. PLN Unit Induk Pembangkitan Bali Nusra and PT. Lombok Samudera Abadi in September - October 2020. Pokmaswas Pandanan in collaboration with NTB Diver Community have done a rapid survey in 1st January 2020 and concluded that Pandanan bay need to be rehabilitated. Pandanan bay is stretched about 2 kilometers from Malaka cliff to the east. 

Total of 22.2 million rupiah were given to NTB Diver Community to purchase materials to build coral transplantation media, marine-related gears, and operation.  Three different coral transplantation media were created, which are 60 iron spider web, 7 fishdomes, 50 PVC sticks with substrates. PT LSA also gave 10 iron table racks with dimention of 1 meter x 1 meter. The gears were given to Pokmaswas Pandanan are 7 set of snorkeling gears (masker and snorkel), 3 live jackets, 1 container, and 2 brushes, and also 1 unit Xiaomi underwater camera which have been handed to NTB Diver Community.

There were 500 pcs coral seedling provided by PT. LSA (originated from Sumbawa with SATS-DN Number 287/K.14/TU/KSA.2/SATSDN/9/2020) which were planted in Pandanan Marine Technopark. There are 2 species, Acropora spp. (400 pcs) and Seriatophora spp. (100 pcs).
